Our goal is simple: create a place that feels like home, where players can learn the game, be part of a team, and experience the Wave Vibe.

When does the season begin and end?

The season typically begins in September with warm-up skates, practices, and team balancing. League games usually begin in the fall and run through the winter, with playoffs and year-end events wrapping up in the spring.

How often do players skate?

Most teams can expect to be on the ice approximately 2 times per week, depending on ice availability, division schedules, practices, games, tournaments, and special events.

What days do House League teams play?

Schedules vary by division and ice availability. Younger divisions are generally scheduled earlier, while older divisions may have later ice times. Some games or practices may occur on weekends or weeknights.

The Wave Vibe is what makes our association special.

It means:

Community over competition

A safe, welcoming environment

Players supporting players

Celebrating growth at every level

Building confidence on and off the ice

Having fun and feeling like you belong

At Wave, we believe hockey should be competitive, positive, and memorable.

Does Wave offer development opportunities?

Development opportunities may vary by season, division, and ice availability.

What if my player is new to hockey?

That’s exactly why we’re here.

Wave welcomes players of all skill levels, including those who are brand new to hockey. We offer beginner-friendly programming and a supportive environment where players can learn at their own pace.

Are goalies eligible for a registration discount?

Goalie fees are reviewed each season based on registration costs, development opportunities, and association needs. Any goalie-specific fee information will be included in the current season registration package.

What happens if my player has an injury or needs to withdraw?

Families may submit a written refund request for review by the Executive Committee. Refunds are handled according to the official Port Colborne Wave Refund Policy.

What is the year-end celebration?
