At the Port Colborne Womens Senior House League, discipline isn’t about punishment — its about protecting the positive, inclusive culture that makes our league so special. Our mission has always been to promote community over competition, ensuring that every player, volunteer, and official feels safe, respected, and valued both on and off the ice.
Our Disciplinary Policy & Procedure outlines how concerns are addressed fairly, consistently, and confidentially — with the shared goal of maintaining a fun, supportive, and respectful environment for all participants.
The policy explains:
When and how disciplinary action may be taken
The review and decision-making process
Possible outcomes for various types of incidents
Expectations for player conduct, sportsmanship, and social media behavior
The shared responsibility of all participants to uphold the spirit of the league
All complaints will be reviewed by the Sr. House League Disciplinary Committee, which is made up of members from the Port Colborne Girls Hockey Association Executive who are not directly involved with or affiliated to the Sr. House League program.
This structure ensures that each case is handled with objectivity, fairness, and integrity, allowing for a non-biased review process that reflects our leagues values of respect, safety, and inclusivity.
We are proud to be a women-led, community-driven league where every player contributes to the culture of respect, belonging, and sportsmanship we have built together. When discipline is necessary, it serves to protect that positive environment and ensure our league remains a place where hockey is fun, friendships grow, and everyone feels they belong.
