We at Port Colborne Girls Hockey “The Wave” are very excited to announce that we have secured 2 of the top hockey and skating coaches in the area to provide extra development sessions for our U9-U15 teams for the upcoming 24/25 season.
Nancy Gruhl (Nancy Gruhl Powerskating)
Nancy has been a skating instructor for over 40 years working with all levels of skaters from new to the ice to the NHL level. She has instructed star NHL players including Matt Ellis, assistant coach Buffalo Sabers, and Paul Bissonnette, former player Arizona Coyotes and now host of the Spittin Chicklets Podcast. Nancy has also worked with several female hockey players who have gone on to play D1 Hockey at University in the US.
Chris Huneault (HHP Hockey)
Chis grew up in Niagara and played Junior B hockey for both Port Colborne and Thorold before being drafted to the Kitchener Rangers of the OHL. Chris has been a coach for 10+ years with Port Colborne Minor hockey as well as starting a Hockey School with his brother, who was also drafted to the OHL. Chris has also signed on to help coach our, newly offered this season, U7 team.
We are extremely excited to be able to officially announce that Chris and Nancy will be offering their skills and passion for our sport for the upcoming season. We are offering these development opportunities as part of your season registration fee. Yes, this means that when you sign up for the 24/25 season with any of our U9-U15 teams you will receive up to 12 weeks of free hockey and skating development between Chis and Nancy.
